Actiontec router support

Network Weather works with Actiontec routers. Integration level: Basic.

What you'll see

If you have (or had) Verizon FiOS, you may have an Actiontec router — the MI-424WR was the standard FiOS gateway for many years. Without logging in, Network Weather can show you:

• Router model
• Approximate firmware age

What you'll see with login

Once you provide your credentials, Network Weather adds:

• All connected devices
• WiFi information
• Security findings

How to log in

The username is admin. The password is typically the serial number printed on the label on the bottom or back of the router.

What problems can be detected

• Devices you don't recognize on your network
• WiFi security issues
• Whether your router's firmware is very old

Tested on

• MI-424WR Rev D (Verizon FiOS)

Good to know

• These routers are quite old. Actiontec MI-424WR routers run firmware from around 2009 and have limited features by today's standards. If you're still using one, it may be worth upgrading for both performance and security.
